"Experiencing the Heart of Jesus"

To the women of Quail

In the story in John 4 of the Samaritan woman Jesus knew that the womans search for water, and even for marital security, was only a surface clue to the profoundly deeper longings of her heart. When Jesus explained to her that there is a well of special water the kind that can quench all thirst, she must have begun to wistfully long for the life of acceptance and respect He was speaking about. Sir, give me this water so that I wont have to get thirsty and keep coming here to draw water. (John 4:15)

Can you hear her heart? Jesus is offering her more than she could ever imagine a way out of her past and hope and freedom for her future.

No one had ever talked to this woman about her spiritual hunger and thirst before and she was confused. She did not immediately understand, but as he interacted with her, he allowed her time to ask questions and put the pieces together for herself. As her heart and her eyes were opened to the truth that this really was the Messiah, she couldnt wait to go back into the town and bring everyone she knew to meet this remarkable man!

Scripture tells us she ran into the town and began to tell everyone, Come with me and meet a man who knew everything I had ever done and loves me still. As she shared her experience with others, in spite of her reputation, they came to meet this manthe Messiah. She became the spiritual catalyst for this entire community for spiritual growth, as she encouraged them to come and meet Him and then blessed them with her testimony. Scripture says, Many believed because of her words.

Our goal this year for the women of Quail is, like our Samaritan woman who asked Jesus for spiritual drink that would forever quench her spiritual hunger and thirst, to offer this same living water through our ministries in the areas of Spiritual Growth., Encouragement and Missions/Service.

As we drink deeply, our goal is to provide opportunities for our women to grow spiritually, to encourage and be encouraged, and to serve each other out of the abundance of our hearts that have been blessed by our Messiah.

Jesus says to each of us " those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty."

Come and drink!
